Title Fight have released their second full-length album today and it is called Floral Green. The band states “it has been a long time coming”, but we are so happy that the time is finally here. It has become one sexy bundle of tunes. The tracks are so full of groove and dreaminess, yet the record is energetic and gives you that pumped feeling that makes you know you are listening to Title Fight.
The album kicks off with ‘Numb, But I Still Feel It’, a song that directly sets the tone for the entire album. A strong written track, going up and down into an emotional whirlpool that drags you down under into the lyrical story told. “I hold my breath through every tunnel, and wish I could get over this feeling of slipping under…”
The album really opens up during ‘Secret Society’, an energetic song that has strong roots in hardcore. This track has that original, authentic Title Fight sound that we all love. It has great sing a long potential and will be an absolute blast during live shows. Even though it is a new song it almost feels like it has some sort of sentimental value to it.
This song was released as a single and the band released a video to go with it. We absolutely love the footage, if you have not yet seen it check it out below:
Another song that the true Title Fight fan has to enjoy is ‘Sympathy’. This song was also released as a single and this was the song that got me really excited for this album. Most people I spoke were doubtful about a new Title Fight album, because of legendary status of their previous record. This song proofed that the band still had it to write a new record that didn’t go under in the shadow of their past accomplishment. Catchy vocal lines and rocking riffs make this record jump up and stand out.
The album dies out incredibly with the sweetest sounding tracks the band has produced to date. I found myself in a weird drowsy state at the end of ‘Lefty’ and even more so after ‘In-Between’. The down-tempo of the guitars and drums, just not fast enough to get you bouncing on your seat or even tapping your fingers. It gets you into a relaxed state of mind and drowns you in calm words.
Title Fight’s Floral Green has really become something different from what we are used to from this band and yet it is exactly the same. It is an album of crazy, fast, adrenaline rushed songs, decorated with these sweet, fragile creations that have you falling in love this new work of art by the band.
You can pick up a copy of Floral Green from the band on one of their on tours, the SideOneDummy Records store, or from iTunes.
