Kaedyn Entertainment, freshly established in 2011, is a booking and management agency run by Gideon’s guitarist Daniel McCartney. Two weeks ago they announced their very first signings Thirtyseven, Ironwill, Divide The Sea, Latin for Truth and Gideon. To help Daniel spread the word, we did a short interview with him.

What made you wanting to start your own business?

I started Kaedyn Entertainment after booking for Gideon full-time for a while. I built my contacts up good enough where I could effectively help out bands besides my own, so I started Kaedyn Entertainment.

When/why/how come you decide that music was gonna be your life?

Touring + working in the music industry full-time was a decision I made when I first started playing music. It definitely was a tough decision when it came to either go to college, or hit the road, and I’m so glad I chose what I did. Things are really starting to unfold like I hoped.

What bands did you grew up listening to?

P.O.D, Underoath, Project 86, and Comeback Kid played big parts on my playlists. Many more, but those are some significant ones for sure.

You’re not only working together with hardcore bands. Can you explain a bit more about the roster?

I book for several bands, including Hardcore/Pop Punk/Screamo/ and Metal. I didn’t want to limit my company to one genre, because that would limit so many possibilities. I personally listen to genre’s of all kinds, so I enjoy working with each and every band that is on my roster. It also in the long run opens up many more doors for me, being that I am not exclusive to just “Hardcore”, or just “Pop Punk”.

What are you goals long and short term?

I hope to expand the company and keep growing. Short term would be keep my bands on the road, working hard, and get them on the road to success. Long term would be to grow and expand my company to be one of the biggest in the industry.
