Walkers – To Traverse

Shortly after Walkers‘ vocalist Tom Colello got in touch with me I downloaded their brand new EP To Traverse. It was the third 5-track EP I downloaded these past two weeks, yet again it left me impressed. Don’t judge the EP on its production qualities, but take a careful listen to five energetic hardcore songs.

Download the EP now for free and discover a new band in vain of Defeater, Dead Swans and More Than Life. Walkers has the potential to grow big and I expect to see them on tour soon.

Singer Tom Colello comments: “This EP is mainly about relationships I’ve forged over the years; be it friendship, romantic, or familial. The main idea “To Traverse” being mostly a reflection on moving through life. The relationships we make through our lifetimes are important, whether you are able to maintain them or not, they’re always a part of you. That’s what this record is about.

Since I was first introduced to hardcore, it has been a huge part of my life. Growing up, I was always surrounded by music and musicians with my family but it never really meant anything to me. It wasn’t until I was 12 or 13 when I heard bands like Vision Of Disorder, Madball, and Sick Of It All that music made me really FEEL something. Being so young, I didn’t really fully understand the message or what they were singing about but I knew it meant something. If it weren’t for this music, I wouldn’t have the friends or the amazing experiences and memories I have. I’m 25 and have been doing this for about 13 years and it never gets old. There’s always new bands doing great things and constantly pushing the envelope and it’s amazing. It’s something that has been going on long before me and I know will continue to do so after I’m gone.
